Fill it to train, empty it to move it. That is the whole idea, and it is a good one if you travel, share a space, or want to add load without adding an object to the corner of a room. Fill part way for higher-rep conditioning work, fill fully for pressing and rowing. Empty it and it weighs almost nothing in a suitcase.

You choose the load by how much water goes in, so the same dumbbell serves a warm-up and a working set.
Empties for storage and travel
Drained, it is a light plastic shell that fits in a bag. This is the only adjustable dumbbell you can take on a plane.
PP construction
A rigid polypropylene body holds its shape when filled and takes being set down on a hard floor.

Sized to be held comfortably in one hand through pressing, curling and rowing.
